Research Websites you should Check out

There are a few research websites and tools that every investor must use to be informed. Too many times investors look at 1 report, or 1 analysts opinion. To gain complete confidence over an investment, you need to find multiple sources all confirming the same opinion or figures.

This doesn’t mean buying expensive subscriptions to investor forums or websites, most of the research tools you need are completely free, these are the resources you must have if you want to a successful investor:

  • Yahoo Finance: This is the big dog of all investing knowledge, you can find almost everything about every company traded on major exchanges. You can even get the mobile app and set alerts for specific company news.
  • Simply Wall Street: This is a subscription site, you set up your portfolio and it tracks your progress against the overall market, there is a free subscription, but for $59 per year, I would upgrade. The website also holds stacks of company data and analyst reports.
  • Morningstar: Morningstar is one of the leading analyst sites available. Similar to Yahoo Finance it has more information than you will need to know, but where Morningstar differs is, they have analysts who rate company ratios on a scale of 1 to 100.

I would sign up to all three of these websites. They are the top investing sites out there with more information than the rest of the internet combined.

Not only do they have live fundamental analysis updates, they have news alerts, prior recommendations, and monthly hit lists of companies to watch. But in my opinion all of this comes second to vast library of analyst reports available for free.

You can’t put a price on the information available, thousands of analysts at your fingertips, you are going to be among the most informed investors in the world by doing your research properly while using the correct tools.
